Automations
& Controls

Good control strategy beats more expensive instrumentation.

What we actually do

We build the control system and hand you the plant that runs it — panel, code, network, and drawings that match the wall.

i3 Automations & Controls has been integrating industrial control systems since 2000. Control panels, PLC and SCADA programming, instrumentation, commissioning. Oil and gas in Houston, water and wastewater across Florida, automotive body shops, paper mills, and utility-scale solar.

We are a registered federal contractor, certified on Ignition, VTScada and Canary. The work is the same either way: understand the process, choose the strategy that fits it, and leave behind a system the plant staff can run without calling us.

Capabilities

Eight disciplines,
one contractor

Most plants end up coordinating a panel shop, a programmer, an instrument tech and a commissioning crew — and owning every gap between them. We carry all four, which is why the drawings match the code and the code matches what is wired.

All capabilities

01

Control Panels

UL-compliant enclosures built, wired and tested before they ship. You get the panel, the schematics and the bill of materials — not a black box.

02

PLC Programming

Rockwell, Siemens and Schneider. We write to your standard when you have one, and we document the one we write when you do not.

03

SCADA Programming

Ignition, VTScada and Canary. Screens an operator can read at 3 a.m., alarms that mean something, and history that survives an audit.

04

Commissioning

Loop checks, I/O verification, startup and operator training. The plant runs before we leave, and the as-built drawings match what is on the wall.

05

Instrumentation

Specification, installation and calibration. Good control strategy usually beats a more expensive transmitter, and we will tell you which one you need.

06

Industrial Networks

EtherNet/IP, Modbus, PROFINET and OPC UA. The layer where control meets IT, segmented so a plant floor problem stays on the plant floor.

07

Motor Controls

MCC design, VFD configuration and starter logic, from a single skid to a full lineup.

08

Software Development

Reporting, SQL integration and the tools around the control system — daily reports pulled from the database, alerts routed to the operator on shift.

Platforms we run

The stack the
process needs

We are certified on three SCADA platforms and fluent on three PLC families. Which one a project uses is a decision about the process, the plant's existing standard, and who has to maintain it after we leave — never about what we would rather write.

Where our
controls run

Five sectors, one discipline. What changes between a refinery and a body shop is the process and the consequence of getting it wrong — not the rigor the control system deserves.
